Lets face it: the Bloodline SUCKED big time in 2008. Nothing has been updated in very long time. 2009, hopefully, will be our time to shine. We are looking at upgrading our budget to include purchasing of new equipment and the ability to attend multiple events and provide our users with quality information and content. And MAYBE we can get someone else to help contribute to this damned site! I almost let this site shut down, but Shevi and I brainstormed to see what we can do to revive the site. 2009 is either our time to shine or time to die. So long 2008, we hardly knew you.
Diva de Kumbia Disappearing Trick Part I
She’s from the heart of Texas and an uprising female vocalist: Sonia Bass (a.k.a. Diva de Kumbia) . Such a beautiful and stylish young star who brought the audience to their feet with her unique beats and rhythms including cumbia, mariachi, hip-hop, vallenato, ranchera, and salsa; she sang it all. Her latest CD, entitled “Dimelo Mi Amor,” was supposed to be hit the store shelves. Did it ever make it ? I sure don’t know. Which brings me to ask: where is she?
Gabbanelli Pwns Copycats
In the shadows of music, movie, and software piracy, there existed musical instrument piracy.
Apparently, a legal battle over the “Gabbanelli” accordion trademark has been going on for the last 7 years between Mike Gabbanelli and Elio Gabbanelli (there are other parties involved, but you’ll probably only be interested in Elio).
Elio Gabbanelli has been manufacturing accordions in Castelfidardo, Italy under the Gabbanelli brandname for an unspecified amount of time. Although he carries the family name, he actually has no right to manufacture and brand these accordions with the name because he does not own the patent and/or trademark. (more…)
Waste of Stage Space?
While sitting in the middle of a huge dark room and downing a few Tecates, I realised that I could not justify any reason for having dancers on stage. Only one thought popped in my head: What a waste of space and money.
You might think I am out of line.
Rockin’ body, hair all over the place, visual signs of menstruation, big booty, urban clothing, the works. Dancers have it all, but do they play? Do they sing? What do they really contribute to the band, other than providing the male crowd with unfathomable sexual desires? Here’s my point of view: Lets say you are the leader of the band, you write a good portion of the music, help with arrangements, design melodies, you sing on stage, you play your instrument. Fusions: Los D Boyz + Isaac de los Santos
We are happy to report that Isaac de los Santos, former vocalist for former existing band Los Tremendos V from a former life, has been picked up by Los D Boyz. If you don’t know who Los D Boyz are, you should probably have a Clorox Cocktail. Its hard to imagine Isaac being heard with anything else other than T5, then again, we are putting one of conjunto’s finest vocalists with conjunto’s noblest band. What we have here is a basic case of bad ass music with bad ass vocals.
While criticized by others for overexaggerating his voice and bringing different vocal tones to traditional conjunto music, Isaac will bring a real nice flavour to Los D Boyz, and others will appreciate it. Ya vez, lo que paso con Los Tremendos V: hardcore conjunto and powerful vocals won many fans over (many fans still stand today). Look out for Los D Boyz this year. We anticipate an album this year featuring Isaac’s vocals.

Shocker: DJ Kane + AB3 = KAS!?

DJ Kane has officially secured negocios with AB Quintanilla III and Kumbia All Starz. He (DJ Kane) is the new vocalist for KAS. I don’t even feel like rambling on about this one. So watch the video by clicking here and clicking on “Nuevo Vocalista de Kumbia All Starz.”

Oh no! Another Disturbance in the Force!!!
First it was a rumor, and now AB3 has graced the public with a press release. Pee Wee is officially out of Kumbia All Starz. How else do you word something like that? There’s no beating around the bush. Its that plain and simple. Some are saying he is going to do a solo project, others are saying he is going to do a reality TV show. Taco Bell F*cks Up
We weren’t impressed with this year’s Superbowl ads (piss on ‘em). Well, I take it back: the Bud Light commercials were pretty funny. However, there was one ad that was just completely out of line. If you’re a musician in the Onda and you saw this commercial, you either already know about this HUGE mistake or you will be shocked. Take a look at this stupid Taco Bell ad and tell me what you see.

Aqui esta un video de PURO PINCHE CONJUNTO! This was back in November 2007 at the 9th Annual Eligio Escobar Veterano Conjunto Festival. After a few songs, Boni invited his son Robert to the stage, but Robert was shy! Also you’ll notice Roland Gomez AND Adan de la Rosa III playing bajo-sexto on stage. STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!!!
