Q-Ball Signs…GASP!
Although experience in this specific sub-genre of the Onda is relatively limited with the company, Q-Productions has recently signed a Norteño-light band, Jorge Roel y Potrillo, out of Intocable’s hometown of Zapata.
Featuring a 15 year old accordion, their music carries the traditional Norteño-light sound that comes from that area of Texas. Very well done, strong vocals. Judging from the single*, however, the mixing seems only subpar. I expected more out of the CD layout, especially with all of the bragging on the site’s film, video, and art section of the website. The bands future has potential, but with Q, only time will tell. We wish only the best for them; hopefully the band can put Q back on the map.
The band’s single, Perdoname, can be heard over your local airwaves. At least in Corpus Christi. Wait…What happened to Sesi’s spot on the artists page?

15yr old accordian player…..hmm to me they still suck. We don’t need anymore norteno outfits. All the same sound, same music, nombre forget it. Q productions goin with norteno is a last resort of tryin to keep his name out there. Pack it up and go home kids, it won’t go farther than the first single, ala Lobo IV, Los Gallitos. Thanks but no thanks.

honestly im getting tired of all this norteno light(light norteno) stuff, the other day this guy sent me a message on youtube asking me to check out his videos, it was pretty decent tejano/conjunto music of his band playing, then i checked out there myspace that had there NEW cd on there, ALL light norteno, WTF??????????????????????????

I heard them. nice clean sound. but there is a lot of these guys out there. but that is not a down point or flaw for them. it just means that is what their is a market for that brnad of music and thats is what the sonido joven over here sound like. In music you can have a lot of sound alikes and still be able to separate your self from the bunch and be succesful. I like them, hopefully they can do that. If you dont beleive me take those durangese bastards for an example. conjuntos, urban cumbia bands like kk, tejano, vallenato, all are a dime a dozen but some find a way to stick out. Being on the tail end of Q’s death rattle could be there only down fall

LOL @ TAP. you’re wrong tap. Tejano-EMO is also known as norteno-light….leaning more towards jesse turner. THAT’S Tejano-Emo. thats not even close to being called…well. n/m. i am working on something as we speak right now.

i SAW THIS KIDS PLAY IN MONTERREY LAST WEEK AND THEY KICKED ASS AGAINST OTHER BIG NAMES OUT THERE, AND 5 YEARS OLS THAT RIGHT THERE SAYS ALOT. i DON’T KNOW WHATS HAPPEING TO q BUT I’AM SURE THEY REALLY DON’T NEED THEM THEY HAVE THIER TALENT AND i BET THEY WILL GO PLACES. i WISH THEM LUCK AND SOME OF YOU SHOULD TOO. your illiteracy shows…you wrote “5 years old” twice buddy. anyways, to clear up a few things, we’re not hating on the band at all. you obviously haven’t read enough of the post to realise that. i’m sure they will go places, but with Q’s deathgrip, they will be held back like some other bands have. the band sounds great. next time please read the rest of the post.
