Need accordion repair? Check this out…
Yeah, so when I bought my Gabbanelli 5 years ago, there was a huge air leak in it. I thought it a simple problem, so I took it to someone. After a few days, I received a phone call and what do you know, my accordion was fixed! Many people referred me to this person
so to me, there was no need to test it (of course, thats me in my younger years). Some time later, I found myself at home, extremely disappointed because $150 was now out of my wallet, and my accordion was still not fixed. For five years, the accordion was played with that leak, muscles were pulled, and lots of skills were lost…Well, maybe not skills. Having the leak had one advantage: helping me develop faster fingers and faster rhythms. Now, five years later, I do some internet searching and FINALLY find someone near me (in case you don’t know, accordion repair is a rarity, especially in South Texas)…To my surprise, it was a woman. I read the bio on her website looking for some kind of praise or experience. Her father (who is now deceased) owned an accordion factory; she served as his apprentice for 13 years. Her experience includes accordion repair of ALL types and reed tuning. She has the best of both worlds. I took my accordion to her and let me tell you, there wasn’t any duct tape to cover the valve holes. THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED! And it only cost me $75!!!! NOT $150!!!!!!! So yeah, if you want honest repair, and you’re close to Corpus Christi, I would HIGHLY recommend Rose Oliver a.k.a. Accordion Rose. Her page can be found here or you can call her @ 361.949.1916. Be sure to tell her I sent you!
