Capricorn Sports Bar Closes Its Doors

It is a sad time in the Conjunto scene. It was reported last week that Houston’s Conjunto-Only Capricorn Sports Bar was closing its doors to make way for an arcade-type business (it is also being said that the owner of the building wanted double the amount of the original lease).

Many of Conjunto’s best have played at the bar including: Johnny Cruz and the Texas Chain Gang, Los Tremendos V, Mando y La Venganza, Conjunto Con Todo, and Los Monarcas (to name a few).

This was one of Houston’s premium bars when it came to Conjunto.  Now the competition stands between Bea’s Island Club and Mak’s Ice House.

Houston’s Conjunto scene has taken a huge loss, and we can only hope for the Capricorn to return soon.
