This year, little Tejanos all over Houston will be tremendously disappointed to discover the “Tejano” lineup for this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The proposed “Tejano Day” is featuring Duelo, one of the heavy hitters in the Norteño Light market. What’s wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. At this point, my thumbs are twittling around while I’m whistling….Ok. Enough of that. Duelo rawks, we know that already.

So its “Tejano Day,” eh? Who else is playing that day? I’ll tell you who. Los Horoscopos de Durango. HLSR, wtf? They’re not Tejano, even if they have a signed letter from our sorry excuse of a President saying so. Hopefully you won’t disappoint us next year, and put real tejano bands in your lineup.

If anyone attends the show while Los Horoscopos are playing, please tell us the crowd’s reaction, especially the white folks’ reaction to the music; I once read somewhere that “White people think that there’s a joke being told when that music is playing.”

The HLSR Committee is not responsible for booking the bands (is this a growing trend?  This has got to be the 3rd event I have heard of that doesn’t have control over booking bands).  However, if you wish to complain about the lineup, you may email this person:   Rosie.Flores@itc.hctx.net
