New Poll: Is Radio Play Going Stale?

rescue.png

We’re having a poll this week….the question is “Do you think local radio play is going stale?” The poll is only available to registered tBL users. If you haven’t registered, hurry up and do it, and then vote!!!

“Whats in it for me?” you might be asking yourself. For registering and voting, you will have a chance to win a CD from a sponsor band. This week’s poll is sponsored by Grupo Rescate from Eagle Pass, TX. Their new CD will be released next week, and you just might get a copy of it! You can listen to a preview of their music through the mp3 player above.

So hurry up and register for an account (at the very top on the right column), then login to vote! The poll will be located under the tBL Radio player (also in the right column)!!! The poll closes Saturday (June 9th) at midnight….Oh yeah, if you didn’t know, registering allows you to leave comments on our posts/articles as well!!! :D

  1. I think the radio stations can get better in the sense that they need to mix it up with both Tejano/Conjunto and the originals like Tony De La Rosa, Ruben Naranjo, and that’s just to name a few of my favorites…..

  2. they can…but it seems like they don’t want to. for example, i’m not a big fan of tejano music (you know, keyboards and horns and stuff0 and it seems like thats all they play aroun here, oh and kumbia kings too. lolz.

  3. i live in austin, and yes. local radio is dead over here. D-E-A-D.no luv for local tejano , rock , or rap!!! in the live music capitol of the world, radio is all flash in the pan BULLSHIT!!! local support is on the decline. we havent had a tejano station since 2002. we get tejano music for like 3 hours every sunday after 7pm. austin is gay. gay gay gay…. ok not gay, but it sucks when it comes to radio.

  4. wow i would imagine atx dead on tejano, but on every other genre? just wow.

  5. Well, it’s sad but true. I can’t listen to the radio much anymore. I’ve had to convert over to country and the booty music, because I can’t stand the tejano stations. I know there’s got to be SOME good material out there, but it I don’t hear it. I don’t like the keyboard stuff either, so when I DO listen, it’s AM radio. I lived in Austin, too, for a couple of years. I couldn’t believe there was no local stuff. It’s so very sad. Hopefully it’s just some weird phase and the good stuff will make a comeback. Until then I’ll party like a rockstar & lean like a cholo, lol.
