The South Texas Conjunto Awards were held this past Sunday (July 15) in Pharr, TX. I did not have a chance to go, but I do have the results for those that are in the same predicament. They are as follows:

• Conjunto of the Year - Robert Riojas y Nosotros

• Accordionist of the Year - Riley Hernandez (Los Gilitos)

• Bajo-Sexto Player of the Year - Jorge Vasquez (Edgar Vasquez)

• Bass Player of the Year - Gilbert Lopez Jr. (Ricardo Guzman)

• Drummer of the Year - Polo Trejo (Conjunto Express)

• Single of the Year - “Como” (Los 4 Aces)

• Album of the Year - “Y Llegaste Tu” (Ricardo Guzman / Los 3 Aces)

• Vocalist of the Year - Johnny Longoria (Conjunto Jamm)
